There are several movies that people hold in great esteem that I have never had the slightest inkling to see. Two that come immediately to mind are Footloose (1984) and Top Gun (1986). I decided today that I would finally give Footloose a chance. I figured I would either hate it as much as I had always imagined I would, or I might discover it was some gem that I’d been missing out on. I tend to lean into the genre of pushing back against the establishment, so I hoped for the best.
